Karuna is a long-time Dancemeditation™ practitioner and Certified Teacher, as well as yogini and yoga teacher. She is a professional dancer with a background in ballet, modern and Middle Eastern dance, as well as many improvisational and somatic practices. A licensed massage therapist as well as a graduate of the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism, her devotion is to weaving body and soul, thereby uncovering the divine qualities at the center of every heart and facilitating personal expression. She has taken hands with Sidi Muhammad al-Jamal of the Shadhulliyah Sufi lineage, yet is deeply committed to bringing the feminine into manifestation in our world. She finds Dancemeditation™ an ideal vehicle for this, and is thrilled to re-enter the Dancemeditation™ community. She recently returned to Austin, TX, where she teaches classes, workshops, and private sessions.
